Yap Ah Shak, who is also known as Yap Chee Ying was a prominent businessman and the fourth Kapitan Cina of Kuala Lumpur. He moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1870 and got involved in the tin mining business and became successful. He was also the founder of the Miners’ Association.
