Shibuya Crossing is best known for the incredible ‘scramble’ that occurs every time the traffic lights turn red, stopping all vehicles in every direction to allow a huge wave of pedestrians to flood into the intersection for a few moments. That crossing has also been popular among street photographers snapping photos of the busy scene, and that similar pedestrian crossing is now available in our very own city, Kuala Lumpur.
According to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)’s twitter posts, the new pedestrian crossing will be at the intersection of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang. The new pedestrian crossing will optimise walkability in the high traffic area and it is opened to the public over the weekend of 19th June.
In fact, even before the scramble crossing was decided by the DBKL, that specific spot has been popular among photographers and Instagrammers shooting photos of it.
We are pretty sure some photographers will scramble to the crossing to snap some good photos when the MCO is lifted and it is safe again.
