Eslite Spectrum At Starhill Kuala Lumpur Is Opening On December 17

Taiwan’s famous lifestyle store, Eslite Spectrum is opening its first flagship store in Southeast Asia at The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur on this coming December 17.

The huge retail space’s design is inspired by the novel Invisible Cities by Italian author Italo Calvino. The store will be divided into four main city themes (City Of Arches, City Of Rippling Waves, City Of Eternal Day and The Floating City), each bringing visitors on a different journey of discovery.

The outlet will command the entire 70,191 sq ft first floor space and will be divided into three sections. 40% will be dedicated to retail products such as arts, crafts, and handmade goods, while 20% will be dedicated to the food and beverage sector.

The books will take up only 33% of the store, with the majority being English books, followed by Chinese and children’s books, and Malay books. There is also a seminar and exhibition space that can accomodate up to 40 people.

Here’s some 3D renders of the designer’s impression to give you a glimpse of what Eslite Spectrum Kuala Lumpur will look like when it opens.

As a renowned Taiwanese cultural icon, Eslite Spectrum is a creative cultural venue with a rich selection of Chinese, English and Malay language books, as well as music, design and hand-made goods, performing arts, themed restaurants and coffee shops, lifestyle brands, and diverse cutting-edge cultural and creative brands. The focus will be on showcasing the dynamism and vibrant energy of cross-cultural and creative exchange between Malaysia and Taiwan.

In conjunction with its opening next month, more than 30 arts and cultural activities have been planned.
