Jalan Bukit Aman

Originally named as Bluff Road, with bluff meaning a ‘cliff’ due its location on a bluff which overlooks the Gombak and Klang rivers. The bluff was later flattened to make way for the railway tracks.

Bluff Road was the main road to the earliest British government offices and police headquarters. The police headquarters has remained in its location ever since, maintaining the order of the city for decades.

The road was then later renamed in 1970 as Jalan Bukit Aman, meaning ‘peaceful hill’. The Royal Malaysia Police Headquarters took the name in 1975, and Bukit Aman is commonly used to signify the police headquarters.
