Jalan Raja Chulan

Jalan Raja Chulan is a major street in the business district of Kuala Lumpur.

It was originally known as Weld Road, or Jalan Weld, until 1982, when it was renamed after Raja Sir Chulan, the second son of Sultan Abdullah Muhammad Shah of Perak and also the Raja di Hilir Perak. Before that it was named Weld Road, after Sir Frederick Weld (1823-1891), who was the Governor of the Straits Settlements.

In 1925, Raja Chulan was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George. He was also honoured as the Knight of the British Empire in 1930, the first Malay prince to be awarded a knighthood.
