Jalan Tun Sambanthan is one of the main roads which is located in Brickfields, a neighbourhood with predominantly Indian community.
Formerly known as Brickfields Road, it was renamed to honour Tun V. Thirunyana Sambanthan, who played an important role with Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tan Cheng Lock in negotiating Malaya’s independence. He was the fifth President of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) and the Labour Minister in 1955.
