Kuala Lumpur Has A New Police Chief

Comm Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain has officially become the new Kuala Lumpur police chief.

He was the Penang police chief before he was officially appointed as the Kuala Lumpur police chief at the duties handover ceremony at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on Monday (May 15).

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who witnessed the event, said he was confident the Kuala Lumpur police contingent is in good hands given Comm Shuhaily’s experience, credibility, firmness and most importantly, integrity.

“He will be able to lead the contingent to new heights, in line with the aspirations of Bukit Aman’s leadership.

“Bukit Aman CID will also give strong support to him and his officers to ensure the city is safe for the public as well as visitors,” he said in his speech.

The performance of the Kuala Lumpur police is very important as it portrays the rest of the contingents nationwide, Comm Ayob added.

“Kuala Lumpur is the focal point of the economy, tourism as well as activities involving embassies and consulates.

“The location of the federal police headquarters is also another reason Kuala Lumpur is seen as part of Bukit Aman,” he said.

Comm Ayob also reminded Kuala Lumpur police to maintain integrity at the highest level.

Meanwhile, Comm Shuhaily said he would do his best to ensure that Kuala Lumpur police achieve success on all fronts.

“Kuala Lumpur has always been in the spotlight and its performance mirrors the rest of the police force.

“It is still early to outline my mission and vision but I aim to work with the rest of the officers and personnel in achieving success,” he said.
