Malaysia’s First Apple Store Opens On 22 June

After years of waiting, the Apple Store at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur will open its doors on Saturday, 22 June 2024. According to Apple’s official website, the store will open at 10.00am on that day.

If you have been to the latest shoppinng mall and explored around, you will surely notice the unique, pyramid-like structure, which has been rumoured to be the first Apple Store in Malaysia.

The rumours have now been squashed, and indeed it is housing the store that Apple fans have been waiting for. The Apple Store at TRX Exchange will be the sixth Apple Store in Southeast Asia, with Singapore having three and Thailand two.

The differences of an Apple Store

You might be wondering what exactly makes the official Apple store different from the authorised premium resellers (APR) such as Machines and Switch which Malaysians are so used to buy their Apple products from. The pricing of the Apple products is still the same, but the Apple Store offers a more comprehensive retail journey that extends beyond shopping.

An Apple Store is not only a sales channel as it is an experiential centre to learn and getting the most out of Apple products and services. The moment you step in, an Apple Store provides a seamless and digital first experience that’s curated to your needs.

Another key difference is Today at Apple, which is essentially a town hall space that’s open to everyone even non-Apple users. This is where Apple organises workshops or classes from making emojis to iPhone photography classes.

You can bring your existing Apple devices and if you don’t have one, the session will provide demo units for you to try for yourself.

Additionally, there is a section in the store called the Genius Bar, where users can get expert service and support on everything from setting up their device to recovering their Apple ID to replacing a screen.

There are also live one-to-one sessions that help you set up your device and get it ready to use. Apple staff can show you how to get more from the products you love and even share their favourite tips.

Here is where the Apple Store will be located:

L1.40 The Exchange TRX
Persiaran TRX, Tun Razak Exchange
55188 Kuala Lumpur.
