This road is named to commemorate the father of modern education in Malaysia, Aminuddin Baki. As a young student, he has obtained the Queen’s scholarship to pursue his degree at the University of London and upon his return, he teaches at the Sultan Yussuf English School, Sultan Idris Teacher’s College, and Kolej Islam Klang.
Aminuddin Baki was then promoted to become the Senior Education Officer for Selangor, then Chief Senior Education Officer for Negeri Sembilan and eventually Malaysia’s Chief Eduction Advisor. He is credited for laying out the the basis for the National Education Policy through the 1956 Razak Education Report and the 1960 Abdul Rahman Talib Report.
Even UNESCO has recognised him as a prominent education planner in Asia.
