The street off Jalan Panggung, Lorong Panggung is one of the popular and photography spots in Downtown Kuala Lumpur. The name is derived from a nearby Chinese theatre which was built in the 1880s.
Lorong Panggung is used to known by the locals as ‘Kwai Chai Hong’ (Devil’s Lane) as it was a spot for drunkards, opium addicts and gamblers during the olden days. The name ‘Kwai Chai Hong 鬼仔巷’ is reused today as a popular space for events, cafes, and gatherings.
